Belgian Tervuren Teaches Bear to Tug

AP Wire Salina, KS - Believe it not, a Kansas woman photographed her Belgian Tervuren, Kyp, teaching a Black Kodiak Bear cub to play Tug-o-War in her back yard.  The baby had evidently wandered onto her property, and the Belgian, being the intelligent, loyal quick thinking breed that it is, grabbed up his favorite Udder Tug and distracted the bear long enough for his owner to snap this picture.

On lookers were saddened, however, when the cub's mother appeared and mauled the unsuspecting photographer just seconds after this picture was snapped.

This reporter is kidding, of course.  Everyone knows we don't have bears in Kansas, cougars yes, bears no....The "bear" is a Belgian Sheep Dog puppy, Dharma, being socialized and trained by Kat Farres of Salina, KS.   Kat owns a Belgian Tervuren, Belgian Malinois and a 'slightly used' Australian Shepherd and is active in about every sort of dog sport, along with ID, transport, and home checks for various breeds of rescue dogs.  Kat also has a site that benefits rescue, www.magnadogz.com.  This site supports Kat's rescue efforts as not all of the rescue dogs come with credit cards she has found.........

Kat urges her Belgian buddies to support Belgian Sheep Dog Rescue, Belgian Malinois Rescue, or the Hutchinson Shelter Fundraising with a purchase from Helping Udders. Plus, the dogs just LOVE 'EM! and so do baby bear cubs!
